Never Back Down!

KuroKy stated in his blog that he will be training harder than he ever has before, and so will I. There will always be games that we lose due to trying out new strategies and experimenting with different hero lineups/skill builds. Teams grow through challenging defeats, not easy victories.

I get disappointed with the DotA community sometimes. There's no reason to trash talk us or even individually when we lose our games, and continue pointless flames arguing about who is the best team, and so and so sucks he shouldn't be doing this or that. We’re a good team, but we’re not gods. No team is. You can find any reason to flame any team: the picks, the play, the attitude. In which case I find sad and pathetic.
I once heard a story about a pro football player who was flamed by a radio station before playing a football game, and then after he owns in that game he calls the radio station and talks shit to the radio announcer. It’s unprofessional but that’s how it feels sometimes. We feel like we have to prove shit to you guys and then DotA becomes a LOT less fun... at least to me. I'd like to give a huge shoutout to the fans that have always been supporting the team and myself! Thanks all.

Lastly, my friend has a suggestion. He said people might be interested in this- when our website launches, that we should have a replay-analysis section where each of our teammates creates an audio commentary to a replay so you guys can get a sense of each individual’s DotA mindset, knowledge, and opinions about other players. Would you guys be interested in this?

Last but not least, my friend is also making a video of me which I hope to be out soon, and wanted to show you all a little preview of it.

  2. It was about time someone made a video about you, you're the most complete and dominating player outside the asian scene at the moment, imo, no matter what hero you play. As for the community, true fans support you even when you lose and that's all what matters, you've got nothing to prove 'cause you already proved a lot. I'm looking forward to your site, seems like it's been in development forever! Gl in your next matches and play for yourself, first of all, not for the haters or not even the fans! Play like you feel you should, it's the only way you won't get tired of Dota!

  4. DoNKeY^, from Peru here,
I'm really happy to hear from your and kuro's blog that you'll going to train harder and trying to become always better! You don't have to prove anything, IMO, you already have! So keepo on rocking, and have fun while showing what you are made off! Greetings from this country, we allways support you demon!

  5. Don't let the "retards" get to you! You are an awesome mix.

The commentary would be great! Your friend is 100% correct.
I also think one or more of you blogging about the important games, like last time when you played vs DDT would be very popular. Would increase your popularity even further no doubt!

GL, good to see you posting again!

  6. If we're interested in this? Hell yeah! Audio commentary from one of you guys would be really awsome imo.

  7. Audio commentary? Great idea!

And remember that all the flamers and the guys that sometimes expect too much of you guys are only 2% of this community. 98% exists of true fans and guys who just love this game.

    GL!

  8. i would love to hear some audio comments by your team, not only to understand what you think while playing but it is a wonderful opportunity for the community to improve their own play :)

  9. Great idea about the audio comments, I'd love that

  10. Yeah that would be awsome and a step forward for the DotA scene.
Best of luck in upcoming games.

  11. Replay Analysis is an AMAZING idea.. I'm pretty sure DOTA fans would flood your website for that bit. GL!

  12. Ignore the fans and community. You owe them nothing and they clearly don't deserve anything. Play for yourself and play for your teammates. Getting a team through a losing streak is easier said than done so good luck and please come out the other side. Btw replay analysis would be great.

  13. Looks great. I'm getting some FPS loss on the video unless I watch it on youtube.

Let the haters go on hating; they're just jealous they're not as good as you guys.

PS- I loved the clip from the game where you were Pudge and I think it was Fear who dc'd and you had to micro his Necrolyte as well. That game was full of fucking win!! Keep it up dude!

  14. The replay analysis would be awesome. Any insight on why certain heroes were picked or items bought would be great... You guys are a great team and the worst thing that could happen is that you let a couple defeats and childish dota fans get in the way of your focus. Besides, even in defeat you always play well.

  15. Of course audio commentaries would be great. It might even solve your other problem too. People will flame less once they realize you guys don't take yourselves or the game half as seriously as they do.

You're one of the last players trying to keep it fun. Ignore the haters...keep innovating guys.

    =)

  16. Trash talking players or teams when they lose is a part of every competitive scene with enough fans, it's definitely not exclusive to DotA. Obviously, people get upset when their team loses and the internet provides an easy way for them to harshly communicate their displeasure through the trashing of players, but in the end they're really just searching for someone or something to blame the loss on.

Also, I don't think there's any problem with discussing what team is better/how good certain picks were/how well a player is playing. The competitive DotA community would be really boring if it was simply people saying "GG, both teams looked like they were trying hard!" People enjoy analyzing and conversing over things they're interested in, and even though the quality of such discussion (for instance, gosugamers comments) may be pretty awful, I still don't think criticizing players of a game is inherently bad.

    Audio commentaries would be cool.

  17. TBH, over the years the only pro american dota player I truely respect is Fear. I've played a few games with you, merlini, juice, etc and sure u guys are good players, but fear is the only one i respect because he has class in a sense. Got to break it to you, the cliquish environment formed by the inhouse leagues such as DXD, IHL, etc killed it for me. Too much shit talk from everyone around for there to be any mutual respect among players no matter what the difference in skill level. Too many skilled players hating on so called 'noobs' and forming their own circle. And Fear imo dodged that bullet. He was never really to into inhouse leagues, and hell even went on a nine game losing streak during the old IHL days, which is hilarious still btw. But ya, that is why the only american dota player I respect will probably always be Fear.

  18. i don't know why random opinions matter so much, i think it's fun and all to read the comments that apply to you/your team but taking them seriously just sounds like a waste of energy and effort

how many of the people who are flaming you have a clue of whats actually going on? less than one percent?

    ReplyDelete
  19. +1 to audio commentary :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Don't be disappointed.
We all know you have amazing skill, and your team is great, everybody lose sometimes, it's ok.

  21. Seriously... there nothing to be sad about.. this is the world of fans.. and the do talk shit sometimes.. but consider this is one of the forms of entertainment.. nothing can hold them back from talking nonsense again. But over and out.. i still believe in Nirvana.. is true that's no team is god. including the ex famous VP and MYM.. they become legends through ups and down.. so I hope you guys will just forget bout the shit that flammers said and get back to serious business. I'm hoping to see more action from you guys.. Good luck

    May god be with you.

  22. DDT guys experienced the same thing (two-faced fans). You cannot do anything about it and it just kills the pleasure from the game (like the defeat itself wouldn't be enough these haters always crawl from their holes and start flaming you).

Only thing which can partly comfort you is that these people are loosers who never accomplished anyhing in their life and they actually like you and admire you - and are greatly dissapointed when you loose:-)

Anyway, only thing that troubles me in Nirvana is that you never play a carry. IMHO you are much better then Fear and Merlini - so let the guys play support sometimes:-)
Its the same waste as Dread on support in DTS...

  23. Of course, audio commentaries from you guys would be awesome. Good to know you still want to be the best and are willing to put hours into it. I hope your efforts will get rewarded.

  24. Hey Axman, I understand what you are saying but take it from my point of view as well. In those games DXD, and other IHL's you know the skill varies by a huge margin from a complete new to dota pub, to high skilled. Those pub players would sometimes happen to get on the high level games and it makes it frustrating for anyone that plays good thus forming their own circle. I know what it's liked getting flamed, and still do.

  25. never back down just like naruto demon. haha. gl to you and your team.

  26. DeMoN, please, DO make the audio commentaries of a match. Me, a lot of my friends, and everyone else, who wants to improve his skills, would like that. I am always trying to imagine- what does supporter thing, what does the captain, what does the carry- I know, that it is a team game, but everyone has different role, and we are interesting in that.

    Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Give us those audio commentaries! Very nice idea!

By the way, just try to ignore the flamers... you can't teach them good behaviour, it's the internet and there are too many of them anyway. And to be honest, everybody's being rude in the internet sometimes.

    Cheers!

  28. Not charging anything for audio commentary? :P Just kidding :D Good Luck with the commentary stuff.

  29. I think that things like audio commentary from top teams on their replays, and the coaching you were offering, are the sort of things that have the potential to really make people take DotA more seriously, and realise that despite the immature fanbase, DotA is a massively popular e-Sport and there are people out there who really want it to succeed. However, I also think that if only one team is taking this seriously, it could become quite a heavy burden to carry, and trying to do too much could also result in spending too much time on DotA and not enough on real life.

To put it more concisely, I think audio commentary would be great, but be careful you don't try to overdo it or anything. If you aim high, people will expect you to perform high, and do you think you can meet these expectations regularly? (I don't mean the trashtalking fans here, they don't count, I mean the people who really care)

  30. hell yes to audio commentaries!

    please make it happen <3
